A newer category, explained before you commit
SIF allows AMCs to offer ‘investment strategies’ — a structure distinct from a traditional mutual fund scheme — to investors who meet a minimum investment threshold prescribed by SEBI, which may be revised from time to time and can involve aggregation across strategies with the same AMC.
Strategies under SIF may use investment techniques not typically available in mutual fund schemes, including a greater use of derivatives for hedging and limited long-short positions, within the limits set by SEBI and the specific strategy's investment objective.
Because this is a comparatively new, higher-threshold category, we walk you through the strategy's investment objective, fee structure and risk profile from the official strategy information document before you commit, and only assist with strategies of AMCs we are empanelled to distribute.

Before you sign anything
A SIF strategy is a distinct structure introduced by SEBI, sitting between a traditional mutual fund scheme and a portfolio management service. It typically carries a higher minimum investment and may use a wider set of investment techniques than a standard mutual fund scheme, within SEBI's prescribed limits.
The minimum investment amount for SIF is prescribed by SEBI and may be revised from time to time, with aggregation rules that can apply across strategies of the same AMC. We will confirm the current threshold that applies to you before you invest.
Risk depends on the specific strategy's investment objective and techniques, which can differ meaningfully from a diversified mutual fund scheme. Please read the strategy information document in full, since risk is not uniform across SIF strategies.
Yes, investors can typically approach the AMC directly. Investing through a registered distributor gets you paperwork assistance and consolidated reporting alongside your other holdings, at no extra cost to you.
Mutual Fund investments are subject to market risks. Read all scheme related documents carefully before investing. Past performance is not indicative of future results and no return is assured or guaranteed.
